This recording of Major General ‘Roy’ Urquhart CB DSO & Bar, commanding 1st Airborne Division, is said to have been made in October 1944. In it he recounts his unit’s engagements at Arnhem during Operation Market Garden in September 1944. It must be one of the earliest recorded accounts of the fighting made after it was over.
